The perfect match

Nobody could sit down and invent cricket from scratch, it’s just too individual and eccentric. Yet this quirky, British game is one of the most popular sports on the planet, linking grassroots communities in a common love of the game and its values.

Integrity and individuality are values that mean something to us too. That’s why we’re proud partners of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), helping to develop one-day cricket at an international and domestic level.

Gilbert Cup

Gilbert Cup

Every year hundreds of under-11 age boys and girls from across the UK battle it out for the Royal London Gilbert Cup. Teams compete in their counties to play on the pitch during one-day cup matches in regional finals before the grand final is played on the pitch at Lord's during the One-Day Cup final!

Last year over 1500 kids took part and the finalists were treated to a once in a lifetime experience: Before playing in front of thousands of fans at the home of cricket they were paraded around the pitch, had their names on the big screen and prepared in style with a team talk from England legends Steven Finn and Charlotte Edwards. Shot of the Season competition

To celebrate the launch of the 2016 Gilbert Cup we’re running a “shot of the season” competition for kids under-11! We want to see the Joe Roots and Katherine Brunts of the future so send us in the most creative and unique shots from your kids and they could win a training session at their club from an England player!

We’ll also be selecting a shot of the month winner for June, July and August from all entries. Each month someone will win a Royal London goodie bag including a pair of tickets to a Royal London ODI and loads of other Royal London cricket kit.
